Teen Fitness

Being a teenager can be awesome, but it's also a time of big hormonal changes, overwhelming physical changes, and major brain development. As a result, there is no greater time to start working out in a gym (or in any other sport that you love), in a way that respects the physiological and hormonal needs of teens (which is often different than adults).  â€‹â€‹

What Parents & Teens Can Expect​​​

  • If your teen is interested in working with a PT, I help them to develop a positive self image and relationship with fitness, by introducing them to the strength, flexibility & cardio-based exercises they can use to get fit.

  • I can integrate self-coaching & self-coping techniques for teens to feel calmer & more in control in their emotions (e.g., deep breathing techniques, working to their strengths);

  • I can share nutritional insights that can help cognitive, emotional & physical health:

  • I can also help teens understand exactly how the way we exercise can help to manage adrenaline & testosterone, level out moods, help deal with feelings of anxiety & frustration, and increase relaxation hormones like oxytocin (all important in puberty!).
